George Newhouse

Profile

George Newhouse AM is the principal solicitor of Centennial Lawyers and is best known for his extensive work in fighting for justice for the mentally ill, LGBTI Australians, refugees, prisoners, asylum seekers, youth detainees, and First Nations Peoples.

In addition to his expertise in social justice law, A/Prof Newhouse specialises in defamation, privacy, reputation management, negligence, building and construction, property, and planning law.

George is an Adjunct Professor at Macquarie University where he teaches law and at UTS with the Jumbunna Institute for Indigenous Education and Research and is also the chapter editor of Thomson Reuters' The Laws of Australia: Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders – Civil Justice Issues.
