Duncan Fine

Profile

Duncan Fine has been a lawyer for over 30 years and is also a published author, journalist, playwright, media advisor and social commentator. His early legal career began working on Aboriginal land claims in the Northern Territory. He worked for one of Sydney’s top tier law firms specialising in defamation law and has also worked for the Aboriginal Legal Service in Sydney. Later, Duncan was accepted into the Directors Studios course at NIDA and subsequently launched a career in theatre, film and television. He has also worked as an advisor for the Lord Mayor of Sydney.

Since 2015 he has worked as Special Counsel for Centennial Lawyers and has successfully run high profile defamation cases in the NSW Supreme Court, the Victorian Supreme Court, the NSW District Court and the Federal Court. Duncan is also currently a regular opinion columnist for Fairfax/Nine newspapers.
